<p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:10.0pt'>MS Cathie Brauner is a
fairly new member of the Friendship Club in Joplin having </span><span
style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'>joined us in June
2005. </span><span style='font-size:10.0pt'><o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:10.0pt'> <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'>Since
that time she has served as chair of the Public Relations
Committee. She is presently serving as Vice President of the Friendship
Club, and Chair of the Health Benefits Committee for MCB. </span><span
style='font-size:10.0pt'><o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:10.0pt'> <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'>While
serving as Public Relations chair she was able to get recognition for the club
through many local organizations. She set up a phone number where persons
wanting to learn more about blindness, or about the club, could contact the
club for helpful information. She developed brochures to be left in
doctor and Ophthalmologist offices telling about blindness and
the local affiliate. </span><span style='font-size:10.0pt'><o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:10.0pt'> <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:10.0pt'>There are many chores which
the club has called on her to perform and she has always willingly and
cheerfully accepted and fulfilled these requests. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:10.0pt'> <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:10.0pt'>Last fall she accepted the
Chair of the Health Benefits Committee and has since done an outstanding
job. <o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:10.0pt'> </span><span

nominating her for Outstanding Member of the month. Members such as MS
Brauner are an asset to our affiliate and to MCB. </span><span

Committee is sorry for being late in announcing June's Member of the Month
winner. The ACB Convention and vacations delayed this month's nomination.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:10.0pt'>Guidelines:<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'> Missouri Council of the
Blind has initiated a Member of the Month program to recognize those who have
given of themselves and have made a difference in their community
or assisting the blind. Each month the Member of the Month
Committee will select an individual from those nominated by any member of MCB.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'>Qualifications for the award:<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'>
1. Must be a member of MCB in good standing to nominate or be
nominated.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'>
2. Nominee may be visually impaired or sighted.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-left:.5in;text-indent:-.25in;text-autospace:
none'>3. A blind member may be nominated for service to the blind
or for service to their community even if it does not affect the visually
impaired. <span style='font-size:10.0pt'><o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-left:.5in;text-indent:-.25in;text-autospace:
none'><span style='font-size:10.0pt'>4. </span>A
sighted member must make a positive contribution in assisting the blind.<span
style='font-size:10.0pt'><o:p></o:p></span></p>

none'><span style='font-size:10.0pt'>5. </span>Monthly
nominations will be held over for consideration at a later date.<span

none'><span style='font-size:10.0pt'>6. </span>The MCB
Member of the Month Committee will select the winners.<span style='font-size:

paragraph telling what they have done and why you believe they are deserving of

address, phone number, e-mail address, and affiliate name of the person making

receive a certificate and a $25.00 Visa gift card. Monthly award winners will
be recognized at the MCB Convention banquet in October and of those recipients,
