wanted to let you know that the Power Up 2009 in Columbia was really
good. It was well attended and there were some great seminars.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

MCB was a sponsor once again this year and we had an informational booth set
up. I want to thank Leroy and Luretta Welch, Susan Sanderson and my
driver Mark for manning the booth. We gave away a portable MP3 player and
asked people to register for the drawing. There were over 150 people that
registered and we now have their information to add to our data base.
Congratulations to our very own Linda Burriss for winning the MP3 player.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

I also want to thank the office, Nbetsy and Elenor for making the registration
cards and creating some new brochures promoting the programs MCB has to

After leaving Power Up I left for Jefferson City and met our first vice, James
Hollins. MCB along with NFB were asked to participate in the Federal
Monitoring done by RSA. This was a two hour session in which we were
asked to give our input on various issues concerning RSB. The meeting was
attended by James Hollins and myself representing MCB and Sheila Wright and
Gary Wonder from NFB. There were two representatives from RSA in
Washington DC that hosted the meeting. Included in the discussion was how
RSB could serve it’s clients better, our opinion of the services they now
offer, and how to get more feedback from the blind community of Missouri.
It was a good meeting and the results should be available sometime in
September. I’ll try and have more information on these events in the next
issue of the Chronicle.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>
