This is truely one of the sad points of the blind community, as some people act if they are in school and running to the teacher to tell on someone.
i was so sorry to hear of Lieo's passing. I saw Bonna and Leo at the Legislative meeting in March.
I truely would hope that people would put the effort in dealing with petty things as to if someone used a white cane or not , what is that to who ever said that. Leo lived his life to the fullist and had Donna by his side, that should be a muit point. who has the right to tell someone else what is the right thing for someone els to do. You need to clean your own house before you look at someone else, or you really need to grow up and act as an adult not a child.
I have not been involved with the blindorganization for a long time , and most of the people are really petty in what someone else is doing . put your effort into doing something for the good of MCB or your chapter get off your hindin and do something for some else, dont look down on others as if they are doing it all wrong.
We can be a great group if we all worked together and not stab each other in the back, come on folks let us work together for the good of all the blind people here in Missouri , and i think it is great that the walk in Springfeild is named for Leo.

I totaly agree with you. It is disgraceful for such pettiness.
I am sure many individuals worked hard for the "White Cane Walk", and I am proud of the Springfield Service Club.

I am truly upset by this whole thing. This is just another example of the pettyness the blindness community is noted for. It is not about whether Leo used a white cane or not (although for the record I have seen him with one), it is about a way to honor someone who has done a great deal for the blindess community. I have seen this kind of thing over the years so many times it truly makes me ashamed to be a part of the blind community. When is this stuff going to stop? I sincerely hope that her groups does rethink this and donate as they have in the past but if not then was the donation because someone wanted to get credit or was it to help the comunity as a whole? that is the real qeustion. I sincerely apologize to Leo's family for the behavior of others. We will most cerainly miss him. Kim your family is in my prayers.
