I can't believe anyone would even think of something so petty.
I personally saw Leo use a cane many times at Cobblestone. Don't worry, we will take care of the money.

This seems strange to rename the White Cane Walk as the idea was mine and I organized it and put it together for many years. The Alpha Lions Club, of which I am President, will not be donating $200 as we have for the past years. Leo did not use a cane so what is the real point? Other blind people have grandchildren, too.

that is a great idea and I hope that many of us will sponsor her either as members or as affiliates. John

First and foremost, please remember that the White Cane Walk in Springfield Missouri, now named the Leo Giger Memorial White Cane Walk will be May19th at the Senior Citizen Center in Springfield Mo. Immediately, following the walk there will be a Life Celebration in honor of Leo. Any and all are welcome but we do need a head count for those coming from outside of Springfield.
Second,.
As a tribute to her Papa, Taylor will be walking BLINDFOLDED carrying his white cane in the Springfield White Cane Walk now named the Leo Giger Memorial White Cane Walk on May 19th. The White Cane Walk was my Dad's baby. He worked tirelessly organizing the event. In order for her to walk in the event, she must be sponsored. This is very important to her and she is trying to break the all time record for donations. Time is running short, but we are still reeling from our loss, I apologize for the short notice.
If you are willing and if you desire, please sponsor her in this event. Checks must be made out to the Missouri Lions Eye Research Foundation. Then please mail the checks to Taylor Giger at Donna Giger's,address 827 N. Nettleton Springfield, Mo.
I thank all of you in advance. This little girl wants to honor him in this way.
Kim Giger, J.D.
