Some of you may already be aware of this, but in case you don't know, the
Senate is in adjournment and will begin again at 4 pm on Monday, March 26.
I am emailing and calling my district Senator and others to explain to them
that the Blind Pension MoHealth Net is specialized for those of us who are
legally blind and qualified for this health coverage. There is unlimited
access to eye doctor appointments, with copay for only pharmacy. Straight
Medicaid (MoHealthNet) with full coverage allows only ONE vision exam per 2
years and prescription glasses every 2 years. I go to Wash U for Glaucoma
and Retina exams, 6-8 times per year! Anyway, this is something we can
mention to the Senators, that this "Medicaid" health coverage for blind
pension recipients is geared toward legal blindness. It does not allow us
to receive transportation (like Logisticare) that accepts straight Medicaid.
That is one benefit we do not have. Hope this info helps.
Julie
