Instructables is a site where you can find, and share, tutorials on just about anything. If you want to learn something new or share what you know, this is the place to be.
Here's the site description:
"Instructables is the most popular project-sharing community on the Internet. Since August 2005, Instructables has provided easy publishing tools to enable passionate, creative people to share their most innovative projects, recipes, skills, and ideas. Instructables has over 40,000 projects covering all subjects, including crafts, art, electronics, kids, home improvement, pets, outdoors, reuse, bikes, cars, robotics, food, decorating, woodworking, costuming, games, and life in general."
Editors Update: I did some testing with a handful of browsers. In all the browsers I used, I was not logged in to Instructables. I could view all the steps of a project on one page after clicking the box "View All Steps On One Page", while clicking on the PDF box brought up a message that said a Pro account was needed.
Most of the projects are presented as step by step directions with photos, some with videos. There are ads, and a pop-up box advertising a Pro account appeared periodically as I browsed the projects.
My free account is years old and it allows me to view all the steps on one page and download the PDF file for that particular project. It doesn't allow downloading of eBooks. I'm guessing that since my account is so old, it didn't change what I could do after the Pro memberships were introduced.

you can see all the steps in the project on one page or download the project as a PDF file. If you'd rather not join, you can still see projects one step at a time. Instructables now has paid accounts as well as free ones - I'm not sure when that happened but you can compare free vs. paid here.
Instructables also has some interesting contests - my favorite is the one on using Altoid mint boxes (palm size metal boxes with hinged lids). I hadn't seen eBooks on the site before - a Pro membership is needed to download them. I'll stick with the free (customizable) PDF files.
It's a great site to learn new things and get ideas and inspiration for things you already know.
