All,
We now need to focus on letting the budget committee know
our stand on the proposed Medicaid cut for the blind. I am asking each one
of you to not only call your local representative but starting tomorrow to
also call or email Ryan Silvey, the chair of the budget committee with your
comments. Let's bombard his telephone with as many phone calls as possible.

I also received a phone call from Sam Murphy, the communications director
for Governor Nixon, and also the grandson of our beloved Alma Murphy,
telling me that Governor Nixon will be having a press conference tomorrow in
Kansas City and this is the first item he will be addressing. Gov. Nixon is
totally against this proposal.
We will also be collaborating with other disability groups to create a press
release voicing our concern on this matter.
Let's all do as much as we can to let our representatives know that this is
totally wrong! I know if we all stand together on this they will know that
we won't take this laying down or any other measure the legislators tries to
propose that affect the blind community. Let your voice be heard loud and
clear!
