Newswire:
On the third Monday of every January, Americans honor the life and work of an extraordinary American, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. His tireless efforts to secure equal rights for all Americans is truly a source of pride and inspiration. Unfortunately, most Americans are not familiar with the ideas and beliefs of Dr. King. Our image of Dr. King is shaped by media soundbites and glaring omissions. Who was Martin Luther King? Was he merely a dreamer or a man with concrete and substantive solutions to the problems which still plague our nation?
On January 24, 2012, Muhammad Karim, a 30 year student of the African-American Civil Rights Movement of the 1950's and 1960's will deliver a lecture entitled, "Martin Luther King, the Man and the Myth."
Karim will attempt to shed light on several aspects of King's life and beliefs which are so often neglected by those paying homage to Dr. King. This event will be held in the Auditorium section of the website http://www.accessibleworld.org The program starts at 9 P.M. EST.
