UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION

OFFICE OF SPECIAL EDUCATION AND REHABILITATIVE SERVICES

REHABILITATION SERVICES ADMINISTRATION

SEP 08 2010

Dear Partners:

The Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA) sponsors the Institute on
Rehabilitation Issues (IRI) under an RSA grant. The objective of the IRI is
to provide quality training materials and continuing education opportunities
for vocational rehabilitation professionals in order to maximize the quality
of services available for enhancing employment outcomes for individuals with
disabilities. This letter is requesting your assistance in identifying
potential topics for the 37th IRI.

This is your opportunity to nominate two topics that are timely and relevant
to the field of rehabilitation. The RSA planning group will meet to provide
feedback and comments on the topics submitted by the field and help identify
appropriate potential members for the IRI study groups. I will use that
input and RSA priorities to select the final topics. In addition to planning
group input, RSA will solicit nominations for participants from the field
and chairs of each study group.

To submit a topic, please prepare a one-page description that
identifies/addresses the critical need for such and a description of the
issue, as well as its implications for and relevance to the public
rehabilitation program. In addition, please provide names and contact
information of persons you believe should be considered for the study group
if selected. Be sure to include your name and contact information on your
submission. A topic nomination form is attached for your convenience.

Please submit your topic electronically by October 1, 2010. E-mail your
topics to: TaraJordan at ed.gov.

We look forward to your input. Sincerely,

Lynnae M. Ruttledge Commissioner
