Accessible World presents Martha Harmon Pardee On Books And Beyond,
Wednesday, September 15, 2010
Newswire:
Do you sometimes wake during the night, turn on your digital player or other
device, and listen to a book read by one of your favorite narrators? Martha
Harmon Pardee is one of mine. I admit she spends time reading to me at some
odd hours when most people are asleep. She is going to be a guest on Books
And Beyond. Yes--Martha Harmon Pardee. Have you ever wanted to tell her how
much you've loved a book she narrated? Would you like to ask Martha if a
certain book was difficult to read or what her personal favorites are? How
did Martha become involved in narration? Is there a book that has special
significance or meaning to her? Is there a book she would love to narrate?
As you listen to a narrator, are you, like me, yearning to ask questions
like these? Narrator of more than a thousand books on tape for Talking Book
Publishers, Inc., Martha is a gifted narrator and has read books in all
genres: Fantasy, Suspense, Romance, Family, Friendship, History, Religion,
and Biography. Many of those books are available to us through The Library
of Congress National Library Service.
Martha Harmon Pardee has been working as a voice-over artist for the past
twenty-five years. She has recorded over 1,000 books on tape for The Library
of Congress National Library Service for the Blind and Physically
Handicapped, for which she has been awarded both national and international
awards for Best Fiction Narrator. Ms. Pardee has provided narration for many
Fortune 500 companies’ online and video training programs and has been the
voice of the Denver NBC affiliate's Optimum Wellness television promotion
for the past ten years in addition to other Denver and national radio spots.
She is also an award-winning actress who has performed at the Denver Center
for the Performing Arts, Curious Theatre Company, The Arvada Center, Paragon
Theatre Company and numerous other Denver and Boulder theatres. Martha is
married to fellow actor and narrator Erik Sandvold, and they are the proud
parents of two terrific daughters.
