Allied Workers for the Blind invites you to attend...
A FIRE SAFETY PROGRAM FOR THE BLIND (and Holiday Gift Kick-Off for Families
of Blind Veterans)
The fire safety program will be held Monday, November 8th, from 5:00-6:00
p.m. at the Alphapointe Association for the Blind (75th & Prospect) in
Kansas City, MO.
The Kansas City Fire Department is providing life-saving information about
preventing fires and surviving fires as a visually challenged person. This
information-packed program is a must-attend for the families, friends and
neighbors of the visually challenged, as well.
AWB is giving away several TALKING Smoke/Carbon Monoxide Alarms donated by
First Alert as door prizes! These dynamic alarms will not only alert you to
a safety hazard, but TELL you which hazard is occuring and in which room it
is located! A MUST-HAVE for every home!
AWB will also be taking orders and selling these alarms as an on-going
safety project/fundraiser,

Adopt a Family... Blinded Veterans and Families Needed
This will also be our Holiday gift-giving program kick-off. We are
collecting Christmas gifts to provide to the families of Veterans who are
blind. We are adopting a few needy veteran families this year. If you know
of one, please let us know. Please donate gifts, as well.
