What is the significance of what we call oldtime radio? How did it begin,
and why was it so popular in its day? What was involved in the change from
radio to television, and who made that transition successfully?
On the next Books And Beyond, we'll speak with John and Larry Gassman who
are experts in the field. They were consultants on Leonard Maltin's book
"The Great American Broadcast." We will talk with them about their
relationship with oldtime radio and with the people involved in its
production.
We will record the show tomorrow afternoon, Saturday, March 27 at 2:30pm
eastern time and 11:30am pacific time. Because of the vast nature of the
topic, this will be a 2-part show, and we will record both parts tomorrow.
To participate in the show, please call 218-844-3388 and enter access code
26657 pound. Phones will be muted until it's time for audience
participation.
Come one, come all, and bring good questions for John and Larry.
