Here is the latest news from Eric in Washington DC on SB 3302.
Jerry

Before Thanksgiving, the Senate Commerce Committee announced that they would seek to move S. 3302, The Motor Vehicle Safety Act of 2010 (MVSA) through an expedited procedure called the Hot Line. This procedure if successful, would allow the legislation to bypass the Senate floor and pass under Unanimous Consent. As many will recall, our telecommunications bill passed through the Senate  by the Hot Line process.
MVSA however, is far more controversial than was our bill and is meeting with rather stiff resistance. As I communicated in a previous message, the problematic provisions in the bill are completely unrelated to the quiet car language that we’re actively advocating for.

We should have a clearer picture concerning the fate of the MVSA by the middle of the week. There is a plan B that will be put in to place if necessary. For now all eyes are on the internal negotiations. At this time no advocacy is needed but please be on the look-out for  upcoming alerts.
Best,

Eric
