Please pass on to anyone in your affiliate who is a member of a
state
rehabilitation council, board or commission for the blind. These
bi-monthly calls are sponsored by the National Council of State
Agencies
for the Blind (NCSAB). I would like to see more participation by
ACB
members. I find it an excellent forum for sharing issues. Feel
free to
add to the proposed agenda. See below. Pat Beattie

SRC and Commission Board Members Networking Group,

Our next Conference Call is Wednesday September 16th at 8:00 P.M.
Eastern Time.

The call in number is 888-866-4213. Local callers (in Lincoln,
Nebraska
only) may dial 471-6000. Please remember that the first person
to call
in will hear silence. Do NOT hang up! If you do, the call is
deleted
from the system and no one will be able to connect.

I am not able to attend this time. Pat Beattie, our Chairperson,
will
be on the call. As usual, first order of business will be to ask
someone to take the notes. Thanks to Dan Frye, who took the
notes last
time!

Here is the tentative agenda:

Use of ARRA stimulus funding for current year and 2010 - problems
with
state match availability?

Any VR agencies still on order of selection with some categories
closed?

Model state-wide needs assessment

Prospects for reauthorization of the Rehabilitation Act

NCSRC and CCD looking at Ticket to Work 2/1 offset rather than
"earnings

cliff"

Who will be at the November NCSAB meeting in Phoenix?

I hope that you all have a good meeting. I look forward to
talking with
you next time.

Dr. Pearl Van Zandt
Executive Director
Nebraska Commission for the Blind and Visually Impaired

Our Mission:
Empowering Blind Individuals, Promoting Opportunities, and
Building
Belief in the Blind.
