Will health insurance reform mean security and peace of mind for people with
disabilities?
Teleconference: Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 2:00p.m. EDT (11:00 PDT)
People with disabilities know from personal experience that the current
health care system isn't working - it's too expensive, uncertain and
inaccessible. For years, the disability rights community has been fighting
for lower costs, more choices, and coverage we can count on.
The health care debate raged back in the states while Congress was on August
recess. Now Congress is returning to Washington D.C., and we are at a
critical time in the fight for affordable health care.
Join members of the Disability Coalition for Health Care Reform, Jason
Beloungy of the National Council for Independent Living, Barbara Kornblau,
JD, OTR/L chair of Justice for All Action Network Health Care Committee, Liz
Savage of The ARC and others Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 2:00p.m. EDT
(11:00 PDT) for a legislative update, a discussion of proposed key elements
that impact people with disabilities, and action that the disability
community can take to make sure health care reform happens and in a way that
increases access and choice for people with disabilities.
