On tonight's Books And Beyond, we will discuss the single life. There are
more single people today than ever before. In a culture and society that
prizes the married state, what benefits or liabilities are there in living
as a single person? Is it better to live alone? How does a single person
convince parents and friends that this choice is not only a viable one but
the best one for them? What special efforts must be made by a single person
to maximize happiness and alleviate loneliness? What special concerns are
there for those living alone as they age?
Tonight's guest, Leslie Talbot believes that for many the single life is
best. She will share with us her views and answer the questions posed above.
Leslie Talbot is the author of "Singular Existence - Because It's Better to
Be Alone Than to Wish You Were," inspired by
her website
www.singularexistence.com .
She has discussed singles' issues on numerous regional and national radio
and television talk shows and has been featured in The Boston Globe, The San
Francisco
Chronicle, USA Today and The Arizona Republic. She resides in Boston.
To hear someone discuss happily a subject many dread, call 218-844-3388 and
enter access code 26657 pound. Please call about ten of eight eastern time
to participate in and hear a vibrant guest address a timely topic for many
of us today.
When the show begins, we will ask that you mute your phone, but I promise
there will be time for questions when the interview is complete.
