[Missouri-l] McCB Connect - Ray Campbell

Ray Campbell will be one of our guests on the MCB Connect this Sunday
afternoon at 2:00.
Ray Campbell has been an ACB member for 18 years. He has served as Chapter
Secretary and President for the American Council of the Blind of
Metropolitan Chicago, and he is currently in his second term as President of
the Illinois Council of the Blind.
Ray has also served the Illinois Council as First Vice President,
Legislative Chairman and Resolutions Committee Chairman.
Ray is currently a member of the ACB Board of Directors, having been elected
in July of 2006. He also served ACB for six years as Chair of the
Constitution and Bylaws Committee.
Ray also serves on the Blind Services Planning Council, the advisory council
to the Illinois Bureau of Blind Services.
Professionally, Ray currently works for the Chicago Lighthouse for People
Who Are Blind or Visually Impaired as Adaptive Technology Help Desk
Technician where in just over three years, he has assisted nearly 2,400
people from across the nation and around the world, including a few from
Missouri, with their technology problems and questions. Prior to joining
the staff of the Lighthouse, Ray worked as Coordinator of Visual Services at
the DuPage Center for Independent Living, on whose board he also now serves.
He worked for the center for three years. Prior to that, Ray worked as a
Software Engineer for 15-1/2 years for AT&T Bell Laboratories and Lucent
Technologies, a major player in the telecommunications market.
Ray is married, and his wife, Karyn also serves ACB as a member and Program
Chair for the Sight and Sound Impaired Committee. In his spare time, Ray
enjoys baseball (Chicago Cubs Rule), football (Green Bay Packers Rule), and
college Basketball. He also has a renewed interest in cooking as he and his
wife recently completed a kitchen remodeling project.
