Subject: News for you from Seedlings Braille Books

Hello Friends of Seedlings Braille Books for Children!

Something happened a few weeks ago that was quite a setback for Seedlings Braille Books: AOL shut down our primary email account seedlink at aol.com without notice or explanation (apparently, they thought we were spamming). A week later, after many phone calls and appeals, they reinstated us, but the effects are still being felt. With every tick of the clock, I was afraid that someone was trying to reach us through AOL and we were not there. We apologize if you were one of those trying to reach us.

To prevent this from happening again, we are making some changes, but we will need your help to make them work.

Here are two things that you can do to help:

1. If you have seedlink at aol.com in your address book, please change it to info at seedlings.org or seedlink at ameritech.net

2. So that we will not be accused of spamming in the future, we need to build an "opt-in" email list. Please email back (by hitting the reply button, and include your name and zip code so we can find you in our database) to give us permission to include your address on our email list. We do not share our lists with ANYONE, and we promise not to email you often, but we DO want to be able to let you know about new books and special offers (like the one below). Every email will include an opt-out option, and we promise to take you off the email list if you request it.

3. Seedlings' 2009 Book Angel Program

All visually-impaired children in the U.S. are eligible to win two free braille books per year through Seedlings' 2009 Book Angel Program. Simply register using the form in the 2009 Seedlings Catalog or online at: www.seedlings.org (in the Special Projects section). This program was made possible by Seedlings' generous donors! (Donations are much-needed, always welcome, and deeply appreciated. If you or someone you know would like to make a donation, please go to: www.seedlings.org/donate.php)

Thank you in advance for all of your help!

P.S. Please accept our apologies if you received this email more than once, or if you have already responded.

(We respect your privacy and do not share our lists with anyone, but if you wish to be removed from this list, please send an email to: info at seedlings.org that says "Remove" in the subject line and includes your name and zip code in the body of the email. Thank you.)
