Every year at the beginning of April, a bunch of us once more go
to the
Major League Baseball site. We never quite know what to expect.
Lately, we seem to find surprises that are not pleasant. Last
year, MLB
used silver light, a media player which, to say the least, was
accessibility challenged. What would this year hold? Would MLB
decide
to operate one way for Spring Training games and another way for
the
regular season? Could blind people register for Game Day Audio
and
access it easily? Would we have to find work around for
accessibility
issues AGAIN!!!!!! What can we do about the problems? What is
our
responsibility when we find that a web site is not peaches and
cream?
What is MLB's responsibility? How do other sites do? Is the NFL
site
better? What about hockey? These are just some of the questions
we will
look at. Our hope is that you will join us to talk about the
issue of
major sports sites and their accessibility when we get together
tomorrow, April 28 2009 at a little before nine eastern daylight
time to
start testing mikes. Now here is some info to help you find us
on the
web.

Using a web browser, go to
http://www.conference321.com/masteradmin/room.asp?id=rs510b693fb1
1f to
enter the Politics Room.

There you must either download a small application if this is
your first
time there, or go on to enter the room. The next screen has a
spot for
you to input your real name and a password. Ignore the password.
Just
enter your name and press enter.

The new room looks a lot different from the old one. Please take
some
time and explore particularly the help menu and its accessibility
submenu.

If you cannot join us tonight, please listen starting next Monday
at
8:00 p.m. eastern to hear this program on the mainstream channel
of
ACBRADIO.
