Subject: [Missouri Chat] You & Your Guide Dog Present Becky Floyd’s Gallant Hearts Guide Dog Center Wednesday, Wednesday November 9, 2011

Newswire:

If the number of guide dog schools is an indicator, the number of users will be growing by leaps and bounds for years to come.

Becky Floyd has worked with guide dogs since 1964. Her years of experience have given her a tremendous wealth of knowledge about the choosing of and preparatory training each must have in order to work successfully as part of a team. What is involved in training? How are socialization skills taught? What dogs are chosen for this work? Why are some breeds left out of the final decision? What special health considerations must be taken in to account? How important is temperament?

On our next You And Your Guide Dog, Becky will tell us about Gallant Hearts Guide Dog Center which received it’s incorporation in 2009. What methods, rewards, and equipment will this newest school utilize? How can you get on their waiting list and become a student?

Experienced in training her own guide dogs, Becky has much to offer future users that is invaluable. As executive director of this new venture, with past experience in finance and business, Floyd’s Gallant Hearts is sure to succeed.

If you are thinking about getting a guide dog or want to hear how a new school begins, this is A You And Your Guide Dog you can’t afford to miss. How will this school be different? What is their philosophy? For answers to these and other questions, join us as Becky Floyd shares all the news of this incredible new undertaking.
