I'm not particularly fond of 6:30 breakfasts. However, it was very well
attended and got people off to a running start in the morning. For those who
don't want to go, do your own thing. But, it seems pretty clear that most
people value the breakfast.

Also, the face-to-face afternoon session is critical to success the next day.
The spending of a certain amount of time and energy on Capitol Day is simply a
necessary part of being on this committee.

If folks follow and contribute to discussion on list and, timely, on conference calls, we don?t need all the hoopla of the day before presenting our legislative imperatives to the House and Senate. All we need to do is brief on any updates or last minute issues in our afternoon meeting at the hotel.

The Legislative Chair will focus on legislative issues and how they affect the blindand our interactions with the representatives. The office will handle the administrative details of packets and mailings and emailings.

If I hadn?t gone ot the 6:00 AM breakfast at the hotel, I would have worked out and taken a cab to local hole in the wall so I could catch Jeff City?s workaday chatter before bounding over to the Capitol.
