That is the same thing I wondered.
An experienced Braille user would be totally frustrated by that. John ----- Original Message -----

1 3 5 on the left?
Why isn’t 1 2 3 on the left and 4 5 6 on the right like a Braille cell?

Why would they reconfigure the Braille cell? It wouldn't be like writing Braille at all. You would have to think every letter and iit would slow you down so much that it hardly seems worth it. John

Hi all;
The free braille typing app should be coming out in the next few weeks. You will be able to type just like you would on a braillewriter. Best of all it will be free.

Hi Sandra.
Type in Braille is indeed available from the app store, its a weird (to put it mildly) way of having to enter braille but if you've the time to learn and are a Braille enthusiast then it might be worth you using to enhance your productivity. You have to enter each Braille character line by line, so if you imagine the screen is one big braille sell split in to two rectangles, dots 1, 3 and 5 are on the left and dots 2, 4 and 6 are on the right. It takes a little getting used to, I find it tough myself but then I was never really that hot on Braille at school anyway.
All the best, Ibrahim.

Hi Sheri,
How does the type in braille work, and can you get it from the app store?
I'm interested in finding out more about it.
thanks for sharing. I love braille.

Hi, Folks,
One option for those who are weary of a slower typing pace on the on-screen qwerty keyboard is the Type In Braille app which allows you to enter and edit braille directly on the iPhone. It takes a little bit of getting used to, but I've been using this and have built up considerable speed. The developers are a good group: working hard on this and interested in feedback. There are other braille-writing apps in development, too. You just gotta love this platform!
