The Stream remembers bookmarks in it's own memory for an NLS book, whether
that book is on the
original card or not.
If you can't format your card, it has gotten corrupted. If it's not
that old you can sometimes get a replace-
ment if there is no evidence of misuse (melting, water damage, etc.)

Here is something about the Victor Stream that has totally surprised me. I
was about halfway through reading a very long book when something happened
to my SD card. When I turn on the Stream I get a message that says Media
Error 3 and the card is not recognized. The card has several books on it but
I can do nothing with the card, not even format it. Anyway, here is the
surprising part. I downloaded the book that I was reading again from the Bard
site and put it on a new SD card that I have not previously used. the new
card works fine. When I went to the book and hit enter, it began playing
right where I had left off, even though the book was on a different card and
newly downloaded. I assumed that I would have to find the place I had
stopped reading on the original card but somehow the stream remembered where I
was in the original file. I still don't know what happened to the original
card or whether I will be able to use it again. John
